None of the shops are working for me. Has anyone else had this problem? It just loads endlessly.

Although Version 2.21 was a rather rushed demo, and is the only version New Arrivals can enter, there should still be three shops available in the game:  
(1.)  The Clothing Shop, Summit Style, in Acorn Summit.
(2.)  The Clothing Dye Shop  ( often called "The Dye Shop" )  in Cherryblossom Heights.
(3.)  The Wing Shop & Salon, Schelly's, in Palm Tree Cove.
The rest lead to dead ends // voids in the data.  If you get stuck in one of them, you have to exit and reload the game.

I Sincerely Hope this helps, and hopefully the developers shall have the rest of the missing shops restored soon.  Have A Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Night // Day!!

What about version 1? I've tried playing it but it makes me create a fairy on loop. Which versions do all the events take place on?

Anyone who joined the site and//or the game from 2019 onward gets stuck in that endless loop after the create-a-fairy stage (sometimes, they even get stuck making multiple fairies and//or sparrow men in another endless loop).  Yet, that ONLY happens to them in Version 1.0 // Version 1.
Version 2.0 // Version 2.21 // Version 2 can be played by anyone with an account on the site.

A lot of the events are held in Version 2 so New Arrivals can participate.  This includes Nature Tuesday, the Pirate-Princess Balls, and some other, though informal, events.  Since Version 2 isn't exactly cooperative with the world chat and some other glitches (it was rushed together, after all), some events such as Fashion Contest Friday (FCF) are only held in Version 1.0.  Anyone who joined the site and game prior to 2019 can access Version 1 and Version 2.
