And comes a poem in a string, so to speak.

I remember hearing of one petite
With a voice high and sweet
Now, don't get me wrong
But she was super strong
A fact I discovered on my first meet.

Along a path I did falter
When I noticed nearby water
Undulating hither and thither
And any which whither
And yet, I felt simply no hotter.

Although the water did rush,
It soon did brush
Into hands small yet mighty
Spelling the name Heidi
Before splashing with a hush.

Heidi's wavy black hair
With nary a care
Undulated in the breeze
Even as she with ease
Rescued a sturgeon caught in midair!

The sturgeon was grateful
To not be a plateful
For some huge predator
That was a piscivore
Which to any fish seemed distasteful.

All seemed peachier than a tree
Until next we both did see
A very huge condor
A formidable raptor
Time for us to flee!

"But wait," Heidi said
As we rose our heads
To see, with no doubt
A certain Animal Scout
Guiding the condor whilst unafraid!

Only one Scout had the audacity
To aid a bird so predatory
And although a scavenger,
None else would dare linger
Around a condor except for Daylily.

When Daylily landed she explained
That the condor's eyes were very pained
From all the sand
From flying o'er desert land
During a storm, yet didn't once complain.

The condor needed her help, which she didn't mind
For the condor was in danger of going blind
But since Neverfairies can glow
The condor could still follow
So he wouldn't fall too far behind.

To keep from ending up in a sog,
Heidi had us all fly inside a hollow log
And made a water shield
But the condor, to restore his vision field
Decided to dive towards the watery bog!

Now that the condor could see again
Daylily considered having him stay a friend
Heidi and I thought the idea crazy
Even to the point her thinking was a bit hazy
But on whom else to converse with predators could you depend?

Although we had a lot of fun,
A Scout's work is never done
So Heidi and Daylily
Dared not dally-dilly
And rushed to do another Scout drill run.

Since that day I'll never forget
About how that really small Scout kept us from getting wet
From Water Scout Heidi
To Animal Scout Daylily
Having the Scouts around are very safe bets!

Hope you liked this poem.

Fourteen stanzas of limericks was definitely no easy feat!
