This reminds me of the partial solar eclipse I saw today. It's the closest to solar totality I can recall ever seeing, but it was still amazing.

Nice work!!  It is interesting to see what someone else saw that day.
Where I live, we saw the full eclipse.  It was so dark, the streetlights came sprung to life in our neighborhood, and the birds who typically come out at nightfall were singing away.  At totality, solar glasses were useless, and it was safe to look at the Sun without them.
I wish I had a picture to share with you of that spelltacular event, yet my cellular telephone cannot have the required filter on it.
