Journal Entry #1 - Social Networking + Online Learning

Hot 2Viewed 645 times2020-9-27 00:45 |Personal category:Journal

Hey there!
You are probably wondering what I'm going to write about.
Well this is actually a writing exercise for myself. I heard that journaling is a healthy way to express your thoughts and feelings, so I thought I'd give it a shot!
I know that you, a person, will see this, so I'm not going to disclose any personal information that is too sensitive for either of us.
Alright, now that I got the disclaimer out of the way, I'm going to start my first journal entry!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, I was procrastinating again. I could have knocked out a few homework assignments but I didn't.

I decided that I wanted to get more involved in Fabc and other social networking games. I want to participate more often in online communities because this is the only place right now where I can make friends. School would have been the second place, but the pandemic has forced us to stay home and learn.

I get anxious before I video chat with my professors because I don't know if I'll accidently turn the mic on and say something I'll regret or if the professor is going to call on me. I prefer to raise my hand instead of being called on. I like to be in control of my situation, and that usually calms me down.

I have some methods to relieve my stress such as watching funny YouTube videos and listening to music. (I'll even add eating to that list.)

End.

I absolutely love this. Journaling can be super helpful in being in touch with your emotions, it helps some people when they see things written out, on paper, real. It's also a really good outlet to vent. Anyways onto what you wrote about - it's 100% okay to not be on top of everything 24/7. It's completely normal, don't be too hard on yourself but at the same time keep yourself accountable. The pandemic has really taken a lot of social aspects of our lives away from us, and it's tough, but we're all in this together. Adding on to that, I'm so happy to have you here!! I'm glad you have avenues to relieve your stress and it's difficult to not be in control of your voice, but something that may help is reminding yourself that what you have to say is precious, it's not silly, and it has value. <3

I definitely agree with finding a positive outlet to express your feelings, like keeping a journal, plus the added bonus of exercising care with sensitive info. Sometimes I have dreams that feel so vivid I turn them into either story ideas or dream entries. Sometimes, our dreams, whatever they may be, can turn out so real-feeling we can actually feel, smell, hear, see and taste what we encounter in said dreams and sometimes what we experience right before bedding down for the night can affect our dreams. If you have a dream that feels all too real, go ahead and write it down while you can still remember because that's a great stress reliever.
