- I played the violin for a year and then I moved to a different elementary school. Learning how to play helped me understand math better for that year, so there was an added bonus. I have been thinking about taking a music class while I am still working on my Public Health degree, but I am not sure if I want to dedicate my time to the detailed level of a college level music class. I think I would enjoy being in a choir again more than playing an instrument if I were studying it for a grade and not for leisure.
