I saw this video yesterday that mentioned Disney attempting to shut down Club Penguin private servers for abusing their IP. Since Pixie Hollow is one of Disney's IP, will they come after this website? It seems as if they're cracking down on privately-owned websites because of a scandal that happened within Club Penguin Online.

I don't know what that scandal is all about, but FairyABC uses publicly available assets and is non profit. Nothing illegal going on. We are a fairly niche website and not well known. If Disney was going to interfere I think they would have by now. That's just my two cents.

Hey, I was following the Club Penguin Online Scandal since it first broke into the news; and I'm pretty confident that the main target of Disney's DMCAs' were only for private club penguin servers. To be frank, Pixie Hollow is old news to Disney, since these rewrites simply do not have the same player base as some of these private club penguin servers do. So in other words, I doubt Disney has any concerns about what we're doing.

And if you've been following the issues with Club Penguin Online, I'm sure you understand the reason why Disney took such an aggressive move. Although the moves were primarily to take out Club Penguin Online, a DMCA cannot just be sent to one rewrite, cuz that just leaves Disney vulnerable to a legal counter. It's like saying "everyone is copying my work, but I only want to target this specific person." It just doesn't make sense from a legal standpoint. So that being said, now any rewrites that are using copy write material, are indeed in trouble; but that's just the nature of a DMCA.

Like Sir Jasper said above, FairyABC.com is a non-for-profit site.  Disney takes action when money is being made without their approval.  Sheesh!!  I mean, we were more in danger of shutting down when that one bill was circulating through Congress a few years back than if Disney had wished to take action.
Besides, I do know we once had a Disney employee join the site a while back.  They have not been on for a long time, yet if they can access the site and not complain, I'd say we're good to go and grow!!

I think Fairy ABC is safe. Surely if they had issue with it, they would have done something sooner and not let it come this far. As a few said, they are not making any profit from it. They are also adding stuff that wasn't in the original game to make it different and not a direct copy. It's the Dev's willing and selfless choice to run this place so many can still fly. I was never involved in Club Penguin so I'm clueless there.
