A Valentine's Poem (More of a Ballad)

I kid you not when I say one reminder of Valentine's Day was all I needed to inspire the following poem after Pearl flew through a realm with a heart-shaped tree.

Let us give a warm welcome to Valentine's Day
Where the hearts are all soaring in the air
'Tis an honourable time for anyone to say
And show to their loved ones they care.

A field of plum purple is where I have found
And the rustling leaves in the wind they sound
From lilac to lavender, pink and mauve
I've found ne'er a nicer or quainter grove.

Let us show all our caring on Valentine's Day
Just a modern fortnight into February
In a fields where the grasses take in the sun's rays
Which'll brighten any aviary.

To experience boredom may seem quite wrong
Like discussing a topic inexorably long
The roses we've absolved
From a problem we can't solve
Instead, they were given several a song.

Some persons don red every Valentine's Day
And several others oft don pink
But for me, in magenta just flitting away
Is quite a fun time, don't you think?

Although I prefer purple, pink or blue
What colour is the best for you,
Chartreuse, snowy white
Or even sugilite
Or maybe the colours of a honeydew?

I shall now end my ballad of Valentine's Day
Though with iambs I amn't so swell
Just one last there is that I need to say
Is safe journeys and farewell.
