Pointers?
Hi (: I've been drawing for around a year, this is the first headshot I've attempted. Can anyone give me some criticism? (It's not finished obviously)Proportions can be pretty hard at first, my suggestion is to work on the right eye, and my tip to you: sometimes doing the eyes at the same time can help, but also always comparing, since this is digital art, it's more likely to slip up sometimes, which is okay, just keep on working on it. Anyways, I'm loving her lips, and for your very first headshot attempt, this is amazing. Keep slaying girl! ::clapping::::clapping::::heart:: Thank you for the support everyone! It means a lot to me (: The_Syreth_Clan replied at 2018-8-13 20:55
Right eye looks a little misaligned, other than that it looks fantastic. Good job, keep it up!
Oh yeah, I agree! Good job! :) Edited by Pumpkin at 2018-8-13 14:23
For me I think in a semi sideview some position the eyes differently with one smaller. Her eyes are aligned but for me it is the cheeks. One side is to high. Around the eye area you should think of a skull. At the eye most faces go in a little then gets larger as you get to the cheeks/jaw and then goes in as you make the chin. I like her nose alot. I can only draw with a pencil so I thinkyour're doing great with your digital artwork. Tbh there's nothing you need to "fix". I think it looks amazing! To add to the other criticism, the ear is too small and not placed well. It’s looking very good though for someone so new! Hi! Looking great! I agree about the right eye and it's angle; it's always good to follow the facial proportions guidelines by drawing one line across the middle of the face for the eyes, another between that line and the bottom of the head for the nose, and one between the nose line and the bottom of the head for the mouth!
I think another thing to take into consideration is that your neck will always go straight up to your ear at the angle in which you're drawing your headshot so just move the right side of your neck over a bit to meet your ear! Otherwise everything else is completely within proportion and looks great I can't wait to see the final product! ::heart:: Faces are always tricky as well as full body proportions.
Try drawing guidelines and different angels to get used to making these faces.
Other than that, this is actually good for a first time.
