Why did we layoff pixie polices

I know most people don't understand why did we layoff pixie polices, its because having a police team is not good for moderating transparency.
I do agree that the polices had been working hard, they deserve a good respect, and we do appreciatetheir good job, however, We need our moderators to warn or mute or ban people with evidences of breaking the rule, Moderators are not supposed to punish anyone just because a police had repoted their bad behaviors.

also, i understand you guys are worried because moderatos can't be online all the time, but does it really matter if a police is online or not while moderatos are away? they really can't do anything but report to moderatos, which can be done by anyone. What we really need is more moderators from different time zones.

I feel sorry to the pixie police members, you can still keep your pixie police medal, how ever its name was changed to 'special contributions'.

I guess its not good for windmuddle to have used the word dismiss in his post, I am sure he didn't mean it, what he meant was layoff I think, the developer team apologize if that word broke your hearts.

Though I'm sure we all understand why this decision was made (more or less), it's still quite heartbreaking. I appreciate you posting an explanation, it somewhat helps with this whole situation.

Hey Ican be a part-moderator for Europe - we're the same timezone with Crystal Airshine except we're an hour difference - she's an hour ahead.
I do have moderator priviliges so I'm happy to help and I understand ( mostly ) why you had to do what you did. Although it would be a good idea to make some sort of a group for all those who are almost all the time here ( like the pixie police was ) and they can be like watch pixies or something - not police. Just to look out and report stuff but with an actual rank :)

This is just a suggestion though, you don't have to do it if you don't want to!

Fly with you all soon and thanks Fzra for trying to clarify and calm the community down a bit :]

Thank you for conducting some explanation for this! I have to admit the original post seems a bit passive... :o

Yes thanks

I may be quitting and I may not agree with what was chose but at least you gave some legit information. Thank you, I respect that. Everything still seems scrambled as wind's original post said it was because "Everyone was being nice" and there will always be trolls so... but thanks for at least giving it some clarification.
